For the Van Gils AW 2020 collection, we focus on a new line of thought behind the collection. The future man who maneuvers through life in his own way and the accompanying mindset that focuses on the future. The Pursuit of Perfection: The constant pursuit of better. The philosophy that an individual is evolving forever, without limits or boundaries.

We have defined a number of trends for this season. We see a clear movement towards more comfort in the clothing. That is why we are focusing this season on 'multifunctional' pieces for ultimate comfort. A sense of 'athleisure' is created in new 'hybrid' garments such as knitted blazers, jersey suits and reversible cardigans. Be and dress boundlessly in private, public, lounging, living, working, relaxation and activities

In addition to the different segments in the collection (formal, informal and smart casual), 3 sub collections have been developed in line with the vision trends, which have been further expanded in this season.

The 3 sub-collections are:

On the Go collection. These garments are made for every occasion, for work and leisure with the latest technical features of the highest standards. This collection includes maintenance-friendly and breathable suits, shirts and washable jackets.

The Mix collection: this collection gives the freedom to mix and match your own style, such as jackets, pants and cardigans. The items in this collection are characterized by interchangeability that can be mixed in different outfits.

The Green Stitch collection: in this collection we use environmentally friendly or recycled materials. In 2020 we have included non-mulesed merino and eco-denim in this collection. Our knitwear collection consists of 90% Green Stitch items in AW20.

BCI: better cotton-Initiative

In addition to our Green Stitch collection, we work together with the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI). BCI is a non-profit organization that exists to make global grazing cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment in which it grows and better for the future of the sector. Through BCI and its partners, farmers receive training on the efficient use of water, caring for the health of the soil and natural environment, and reducing the use of the most harmful chemicals. Therefore, we can never know if our styles actually contain better cotton. But we know that the farmer benefits from the demand for better cotton in quantities equal to what we 'buy'. Much of the material in the Van Gils collection in AW20 comes from BCI certified farmers.
